Job Description:

Job Purpose: To be part of the fibrosis team and provide support to our novel drug discovery programs.

Position:

  • Fibrosis Discovery Biology team is seeking an experienced associate scientist and an experienced senior associate scientist to support our novel drug discovery programs.
  • As a member of one or more discovery stage programs, successful candidates are responsible to design, develop and apply biochemical, cellular, and radiometric assays to identify and characterize active compounds during lead discovery and optimization to test novel fibrosis targets/pharmacological hypotheses.
  • Successful candidates will also be responsible for the design and execution of exploratory studies intended to understand proximal and distal markers, relevant to target biology.
  • Candidates must exhibit an energetic and innovative approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment are required.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, optimize and execute assay platforms for the NCE screening in our drug discovery programs
  • Plan experiments, order reagents, set up assay platforms, and deliver them in a timely fashion
  • Regular data analysis, critically analyze and interpret data and effectively document
  • Accountable for troubleshooting
  • Work collaboratively with-in Discovery Biology & Translational Sciences team
  • Literature survey, participate in project team meetings and contribute to the project intellectually
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned, including working group inventory management/ordering or regulatory record-keeping

Technical/Functional Skills:

  • Broad experience in assay development/technologies.
  • Experience must in a wide array of technical methods including but not limited to biochemical assays like enzyme assays, binding assays, mechanism of action studies, ELISAs, HTRF assays, Fluorescence-based assays; AlphaSCREEN assays, etc

Behavioral Skills:

  • Team Work, Effective communication, and Diligence

Qualification: MSc / Mtech in Biotechnology / Science

Experience: 4-8 years

Salary: Negotiable
