Position: Chief Manager – Business Development

Location:  Piramal Agastya, Kurla, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Job Description:

This individual will be responsible for representing Business Development for Generic API as a point of contact for the region in a wide variety of settings (including conferences, trade shows, client visits, presentations, etc.). This individual must be able to coordinate multiple clients’ projects simultaneously, while working closely with representatives from all departments. Should implement and deliver the sales plan to support short-term and long-term growth strategy of the API Generics business

  • Articulate a clear vision to the team and set strategic directions, to achieve short-term & long-term goals for the development and commercial business, with appropriate focus on existing and new business
  • Provide leadership to BD team and strengthen the culture of performance, innovation and continuous learning
  • Set, monitor & achieve targets of sales team for the respective site / location budget
  • Identify sales opportunities and establish relationships with existing customers to generate future sales, avenues for cross selling and repeat business. Develop and implement strategic plans for key accounts in assigned territory
  • Contact new accounts and leverage network to map opportunities
  • Prepare and deliver client proposals in collaboration with Program Managers. Negotiate agreements of sale to close accounts and secure long-term agreements
  • Interface with supply planning/production functions and export logistics/shipping team to ensure dispatch as per customer time-lines and liaise with regulatory team to meet statutory requirements
  • Partner with R&D and Strategic Marketing teams to identify new products and ensure that they are developed as  per agreed timelines and costs
  • Participate in strategy and annual  planning meetings. Report out on sales performance and funnel. Develop forecast, budget and track performance
  • Retain, expand and strengthen client relationships by ensuring high-quality customer service and issue resolution

Desired Skills & Competence:

  • Solid demonstration of negotiation and sales skills including strategic thinking and key account management
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to learn and grasp new ideas both independently and collaboratively
  • High levels of initiative, self-motivation and energy with an ability to work well within a commercial team
  • An ability to deal to manage complex information and Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Highly organized with an ability to work effectively to deadlines. A high attention to detail with an ability to follow through on commitments

Qualification: B.Pharma/B.Sc, MBA/PGDM is Added Advantage

Experience: Solid and demonstrable experience of 15- 18 years  in the Generics space handling international markets. Solid experience in sales for regulated markets.

Salary: Negotiable
