Job Description:

Job Purpose:

Lead and manage the procurement of goods and services for  API R & D, Global Technology & Engineering Services, Hospital BU R & D and Office Operations at Chennai

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Define and Implementation of procurement strategies to optimize the cost of goods & services and to enhance the procurement service levels of following indicative categories but not limited to-

  • Laboratory Equipment’s / Chemicals and Supplies
  • HVAC Equipment’s and supplies
  • Building Management System
  • Hydrogenation Equipment’s and supplies
  • Effluent treatment plant (ETP) and supplies
  • Electrical power supply and supplies
  • Fire systems & sprinkler system and supplies
  • Facility Expansion / Modification and Management Services
  • Real Estate Services
  • Furniture and Fixtures
  • Travel Services
  • Consultancy Services i.e. HR, Taxation, etc
  • IT Infrastructure/supply Services
  • Office Supplies
  • Telecommunication Services
  • Cafeteria Services
  • Security Services

  • Analyze and evaluate supplier bids, proposals, and quotations, negotiate prices and delivery conditions.
  • Identify vendors for categories, reference check/ screen, evaluate quality, price, seasonality and propose the action plan with all the deliverables, terms and conditions clearly defined
  • Survey Market and study the price movement of key drivers, trends, and events affecting the demand and supply leading to price movement in the future.
  • Ensure uninterrupted supply of materials and services to avoid stock-outs to support continuous operations and ongoing projects at the site
  • Identifying and executing Cost improvement projects in collaboration with site cross-functional teams, alternate source development for the supply of critical production aids, consumables, spares, and other accessories to ensure supply risk mitigation.
  • Identify LROA & savings projects and strategies to achieve the targeted Ariba savings.

  • Ensure 100% compliance against CP 102 procurement policies, MAPP procedures, cGMP documentation procedures, SEZ documentation policies and contractor safety and statutory requirements
  • Represent procurement  in the site leadership meetings, attending a weekly tier 3 meetings, Monthly procurement meetings, Global category sourcing meetings and weekly meetings with site cross-functional teams
  • Coordination with Global category sourcing managers to ensure alignment with Global pricing contracts, Master service agreements, professional service agreements. And also to get the required support from them to resolve issues pertains to overseas supplies and services.
  • Develop and coach colleagues
  • Supplier relationship management
