Position: Head – Employee Relations (HR)

Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Job Description:

Mission statements

  • To devise Employee Relation strategies and guidance to Sanofi India in order to proactively address all employee relation challenges
  • To partner with certain internal committees for remediation actions

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To guide the organization on all Employee related strategies with reference to Unions, Employee workgroup, etc in order to maintain harmony and a high level of engagement in the organization.
  • Ensure implementation of all Statutory policies required by all the Govt, statutory authorities, and keep the organization indemnified.

  • Lead various wage settlements or any negotiation with Union/ Employee group etc
  • Review all the Policy documents, policy, etc from an Employee Relations lens and keep the organization indemnified.
  • Ensure discipline in the organization by addressing issues around indiscipline, compliance, Sexual harassment, etc and take necessary actions within the Local labor framework
  • Ensure that certain global guidelines with reference to compliance, SOP, work norms, training, etc are followed in the organization
  • Ensure proactive training of People Managers around addressing ER issues/ improve their knowledge level with reference to labor laws, changes in statute, etc.
  • Proactively bring about necessary changes in the organization around Statute as and when there are changes in the law.
  • Provide help and support to the Business HR’s in addressing ER issues in their respective businesses.
  • To liaison with the Labor Lawyers for any advice etc.
  • To track all the labor legal cases and bring it to conclusion.
  • To jointly lead in the Bi-annual Union meetings and bring to closure issues raised during these meetings.
  • To guide on contract labor compliances at the site and also deal with possible unionization of these workforces. To guide teams to the overall approach while securing Sanofi at all times.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies / Language

  • Ability to cooperate transversally and work in a complex matrix environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders in the organisation
  • This position may require travel for business reasons
  • This position will suit an individual who is able to operate with discretion and confidentiality about sensitive data

Qualification: MBA/PGDM HR/IR

Experience: Minimum 12 Years in IR/HR,

  • Experience in managing Unions in commercial/plant environment is good to have
